Itinerary

FIRST DAY: CUSCO - ABRA MÁLAGA -SANTA MARÍA (Bicycle - Rafting)

Our transport will pick you up from your hotel at 7:00 am, then we’ll head towards the snowy pass of Abra Málaga, located at 4500 meters above sea level, the highest point of our journey, where we’ll arrive after approximately 3 hours of travel. This mystical location will be the site of a small Inca ceremony led by our guide before we begin our descent on bicycles for approximately 3 hours until we reach Huamanmarca, an archaeological center, around 1:30 pm, where you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch. Then, we’ll immerse ourselves in the adventure of rafting, where the Salkantay and Urubamba rivers merge to form the great Vilcanota River. Throughout the journey, you’ll navigate through class III and IV rapids, experiencing a unique and memorable adventure. The day ends in Santa María, where you’ll overnight in a beautiful tourist lodge.

SECOND DAY: HIKE FROM SANTA MARIA TO SANTA TERESA (Capsule Hotel)

We’ll start our hike towards Santa Teresa. The first 2 hours of our journey will be a continuous ascent, with abundant vegetation and spectacular views of the Salkantay snow peak and the Santa Teresa Valley. During the trek, we’ll have several resting points where the tour guide will teach about the flora and fauna of the area, over 1000 meters above the river amidst the jungle. Then, we’ll descend along the Inca trail until we reach Quellomayo, where we’ll have lunch near the river and take a break. Afterward, we’ll continue hiking for another 2 hours to the Cocalmayo hot springs (a tourist resort), and then head towards the capsules suspended in the mountain. This accommodation in Santa Teresa is unique in the world: glass domes suspended on the cliff of a mountain over 500 meters above the river. This experience is unparalleled, allowing you to sleep on the mountain wall with all the comforts and observe the Milky Way from the comfort of your bed.

THIRD DAY: MACHUPICCHU – OLLANTAYTAMBO - CUSCO

This is the day you’ve been eagerly anticipating, the day to visit the majestic sanctuary of Machu Picchu. We’ll wake up very early to witness the sunrise and the Inca city awakening. Your guided tour of the Inca sanctuary will be accompanied by our guide at all times, ensuring you don’t miss any detail of this unique place in the world. After the guided tour of approximately two hours, you’ll have free time to explore Aguas Calientes until it’s time to return to Cusco, which will be around 4:00 pm, via train to Ollantaytambo, where our private transportation will be waiting to bring you back to the city of Cusco.

FOURTH DAY: MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

This is the day you’ve been eagerly awaiting: the day to visit the majestic sanctuary of Machu Picchu. We’ll wake up very early to witness the sunrise and the sunrise in the Inca city. The guided tour of the Inca sanctuary will always be accompanied by our guide to ensure you don’t miss any details of this unique place in the world. After the guided tour of approximately two hours, you’ll descend back to Aguas Calientes, and then return to Cusco.

For your return, we offer two options:

  • TRAIN RETURN OPTION: If you want more time to visit Machu Picchu or Huayna Picchu, you can choose this option by returning to the town of Aguas Calientes to catch the 6:20 pm train.
  • CAR RETURN OPTION: To choose this option, you must leave Aguas Calientes at 11:30 am, walk back to Hidroeléctrica for 3 hours, arriving at 2:30 pm to catch the return car, with a 6-hour journey.

Terms and Conditions

PAYMENT SCHEDULE BOOKING FORM

A deposit of 50% of the total price of the trip is required to make your trip. Please note that this deposit is required to purchase train and Machu Picchu entrance tickets, all subject to availability. Your outstanding balance is due 48 hours prior to departure or upon arrival in Cusco or during your briefing. Failure to pay outstanding balances prior to departure will result in the inability to participate in your trip.

TRAVEL ITINERARIES

The itineraries of the excursions are subject to changes based on a variety of circumstances (weather conditions, political or social climate). Tours missed due to the incidents listed above (e.g., weather conditions or political climate) cannot be refunded.

CHANGE POLICY:

All date changes for tourist services are subject to a 10% charge of the total excursion cost.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY:

Any cancellation made by the passenger with 45 days or less before the trip start date will be subject to a 50% fine of the tour price for administrative expenses. Any cancellation made by the passenger with 30 days or less before the trip start date will be subject to a 100% fine of the tour price for administrative expenses. If you cancel or leave a multi-day trip for any reason: 

  • Full payment is required 48 hours before departure. In case of inability to make full payment within this time frame, an alternative payment arrangement must be arranged and coordinated. Failure to comply with any of the above points may result in the CANCELLATION of your tour. 
  • In the case of delays in arriving in Cusco (due to flight delays, buses, etc.), our company assumes no responsibility for missed tours or trekking departures.
  • Cancellations of treks due to illness, missed flights, and any other reason within 48 hours of the scheduled trip departure are considered NO-SHOWS and will be subject to full payment with no refunds.
  • In case of illness on the way, emergency costs for transportation, etc., are not included.
  • For any reservation for any tour offered by the company, last-minute cancellations are considered NO-SHOWS.

Contact the company’s offices if there are passengers over 70 years old or if they have any cardiovascular disease and/or other conditions, in order to prevent any accidents or eventualities

TRAVEL INSURANCE

For your protection, we recommend purchasing travel insurance. Travel insurance offers trip cancellation or interruption, trip delay, medical expenses, emergency assistance, baggage delay, and baggage coverage to protect your financial investment. The medical coverage purchased with your policy will also meet our health insurance requirement.
